2008 Ford F-450 4×4 Camper :: Featured Classified

Ford introduced the F-Series in 1948 and for almost half a century has sold more pickups in the US than any competitor (it’s also one of the best selling vehicles in the world). Its monumental success is no coincidence, but rather a product of its long standing reputation for rugged dependability and commercial excellence. With a range of long-lived and powerful motors, class leading payload and towing capacity, well-equipped interior, and 4WD capability you can bet that whatever the job, there’s an F-Series to get it done. Unsurprisingly, this exceptionally rugged chassis is ideally suited to overlanding, which is why the F-Series is the darling of premium overland truck builders such as EarthRoamer, Freedom Overland, Krug Expedition, and Adrenalin Industries. However, these offerings often cost the best part of a million dollars, which makes today’s 2008 Ford F-450 Crew Cab 4×4 Camper (159,018 miles total with 63,000 miles on new long block) such an impressive value. This amazing rig is priced at just $55,000 OBO, which is remarkable for such a dialled four season rolling home with a dedicated website and not one but two detailed forum build threads (reference Expedition Portal and Irate 4×4). The F-450 4×4 chassis that underpins the build has been extensively uprated with a heavy duty premium suspension system, Hutchinson aluminium super single wheels, Buckstop Outback front bumper, Baja Designs and Rigid Industries lighting, and so much more. This pinnacle platform is topped with a fully insulated Tri-Van all-aluminum body boasting generous living space (with 2 full time beds), amenities, and storage. If you’re looking for a “budget EarthRoamer” to travel the US or live on the road full time then this is a great option.

From the Seller:

“Built by myself. I designed and constructed this F-450 camper with the best parts I could find for me and my family. It’s great for inclement weather with its 2 fixed beds and approximately 7-foot 6-inch interior height. I never planned to sell, but we have found ourselves some land and a cabin, and the truck is just not getting used as much as it should. We are still skiing out of it, but summer use has been limited. It’s always kept plugged in, heated a little, and started weekly at a minimum. I took considerable time to design the space as best I could for maximum useability with a focus on winter use. It is a true 4-season camper. I invested a lot of energy and love into this truck as documented in build threads on Expedition Portal and Irate 4×4. Open to local showings and happy to answer questions.”
