2025 Honda CRF450R Preview

Honda’s flagship motocross bike was last overhauled in 2021, which marked a radical change in its design. Sticking to Big Red’s four-year production cycle, the CRF450R is due for a makeover in 2025. A complete transformation might not be the case however, as the Japanese manufacturer’s recently released new design registrations for the 2025 model indicate. Scroll down to see seven images of the next-generation CRF450R and what to expect on its smaller-displacement CRF250R sibling in 2025 or 2026.

Brackets have been added above and slightly to the rear of the head stays on both sides of the aluminum twin-spar frame. (Honda/)
The fuel-injected liquid-cooled SOHC four-stroke 450cc single-cylinder engine appears identical on the outside, but header pipe is longer than the outgoing model’s and similar in length to the Yoshimura unit on the CRF450RWE. (Honda/)

Controls look to be unchanged with a Renthal Fatbar 839-bend handlebar housing a Nissin front brake master cylinder and hydraulic clutch, and engine stop, Engine Mode Select Button (EMSB), and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) switch. (Honda/)
To see anything but a Showa 49mm coil-spring fork and Showa shock on Big Red’s top-of-the-line motocrosser would be surprising, and they appear to remain in place for 2025. (Honda/)
