Homemade Alfredo Sauce

I love food and what I like even more is homemade food without all the extra stuff they add to the jars, cans, packages to make the food last longer.  If you look at my cart you'll see I have just about everything organic (without all the extra chemicals) that the FDA says is fine for human consumption.

NOW let's talk Alfredo sauce which works so well with so many different dishes.  This sauce should turn out rich, creamy and packed with garlic parmesan flavor!

So what do you need?

Ingredients

  • ½ Cup Butter
  • 1 ½ Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 Teaspoons Garlic Minced
  • ½ Teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ Teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 Cups Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese

How do you make Alfredo Sauce?

Instructions

  1. Add the butter and cream to a large skillet.

  2. Simmer over low heat for 2 minutes.

  3. Whisk in the garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper for one minute.

  4. Whisk in the parmesan cheese until melted.

  5. Serve immediately.

The rule of thumb is that the smaller the surface area, the less you use because of the concentrated flavor. Here’s how it breaks down.

Garlic Clove Approximate Conversion Measurement
1 garlic clove is equal to = 1 teaspoon of chopped garlic
1 garlic clove is equal to = 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic
1 garlic clove is equal to = 1/8 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 garlic clove is equal to = 1/2 teaspoon of garlic flakes
1 garlic clove is equal to = 1/4 teaspoon of granulated garlic
1 garlic clove is equal to = 1/2 teaspoon of garlic salt

If you forgot to get heavy whipping cream

Heavy Whipping Cream Substitute

  • ⅔ cup whole milk

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan then add the milk and stir over medium low heat until combined. (You can also use the microwave and melt butter, heat up milk for 20 seconds and combine)
