Can-Am’s Phil Blurton Earns UTV Forced Induction Class Win at 2025 SCORE San Felipe 250
This past weekend, Can-Am racer Phil Blurton opened the 2025 SCORE season in commanding fashion with a win in the PRO UTV Forced Induction class and a second-place overall UTV finish at the San Felipe 250.
The 250-mile race, infamous for its punishing terrain and demanding navigation, proved once again to be a true test of endurance, precision, and machine performance. After starting 23rd in class, Blurton and his co-driver Jeff Gallegos blitzed through the field and came across the line in physical first place in class. Only stopping for fuel, Blurton made quick work of the brutal San Felipe race course, finishing in just 4 hours, 53 minutes, 35 seconds.
“San Felipe 250 is known to be the roughest race course in Baja,” said Blurton. “My Can-Am Maverick R continues to impress me with how hard I can drive it in such gnarly terrain. Looking forward to carrying this momentum into the rest of the Score season.”
The Can-Am Maverick R platform once again demonstrated its competitive edge in the PRO UTV Forced Induction class, with Kaden Wells finishing second in class behind Blurton and fourth in the overall UTV classification. Their strong finishes highlighted not just individual talent, but the durability and race-readiness of the latest Can-Am innovations.
With the San Felipe 250 in the rearview, Blurton and the Can-Am team are already deep in preparation for the next challenge—the legendary Baja 500, the second stop in the 2025 SCORE International series.
