PRO-R RIGHT REAR WHEEL IS TOED OUT!

A DIRT WHEELS FAN WRITES: “I have a Polaris RZR Pro R. I have never hit anything or rolled it. Yet, judging by the tire wear and confirmed by measurement, my right rear tire is toed out by ½ an inch. My dealer says something is bent but I don’t think so. There is little to run into in the dunes! Before I start replacing multiple parts connecting the right rear wheel to the chassis, do you have any ideas on what might be causing this toe out condition?” – Joe Hardy, Mears, MI.

OUR PRO NANSWER: Son, you may have thought you never hit anything, but let me tell you, that soft sand can turn really hard if you land wrong coming off a dune! Since you are positive everything is straight and true aboard your “R”, did you ask your Dealer’s service department to re-align the rear wheels? Chances are they are unaware you can adjust the toe of the rear wheels. Toe specs for your “R” are listed on page 22 of the Rev 01 manual. Not covered in the manual is how to do the actual adjustment! There is an eccentric bolt (#6 in the diagram) on the rear toe link of the rear wheel. Loosen the corresponding nut and then you can adjust the eccentric bolt to bring the tire back to 0 toe.
