SEGWAY SUPER VILLAIN SX20T COMPLETES BITD SILVER STATE 300
Segway Powersports marked a significant milestone at the recent Best in the Desert Silver State 300, as the all-new Segway Super Villain SX20T successfully completed its first major desert race. Teaming up with Evolution Powersports, the innovative vehicle tackled 300 challenging miles through Nevada’s notoriously brutal desert terrain, piloted by driver Jacob Zuccone and co-driver Samantha Rode.
From the green flag, the Segway team’s mission was clear—demonstrate the Super Villain’s capabilities and durability. Zuccone noted the nerves at the start line, acknowledging the historic significance of this debut. “The nerves were intense, knowing how much this race meant to everyone involved,” he explained. “But once we started rolling, we quickly settled in and got comfortable.”
The initial 150 miles served as an opportunity for Zuccone and Rode to familiarize themselves with their new ride, refining communication and understanding how the vehicle handled in race conditions. After Pit 3, the course opened into faster terrain, and the team allowed the Super Villain to truly showcase its potential. Impressively, the nearly stock machine achieved a top speed of 101.8 MPH—highlighting the Segway’s strong performance credentials.
After crossing the finish line at 6 hours, 41 minutes, and 10 seconds, the Segway Super Villain SX20T secured first place in its Super 10 class. More notably, finishing 13th overall among trucks and UTVs underscored its competitiveness right out of the gate.
This debut finish sets the stage for the team’s next challenge: the grueling 550-mile Vegas to Reno race scheduled for August 15th. As Segway Powersports continues to push boundaries in mobility innovation, the motorsports community will undoubtedly watch closely.
Segway’s impressive debut in off-road racing signals promising potential for the brand’s future in the powersports world. For race updates and live coverage, enthusiasts can visit www.segwaypowersports.us/live.
