2024 Carbureted 190–200cc Two-Stroke Off-Road & Enduro Bikes

2024 Carbureted 190–200cc Two-Stroke Off-Road & Enduro Bikes

Enduro motorcycles have one of the widest engine size ranges of any type of dirt bike. Like others such as motocross and cross-country, 125cc two-strokes are the smallest when it comes to full-size machines. At the other end of the spectrum are big-bore four-stroke enduros with engines up to 511cc in displacement. Back toward the smaller end of bore and stroke measurements, just above 125cc premix-burners are 144cc and 190–200cc two-strokes. In this article, we’re going to cover the latter—all of which are carbureted.

2024 Beta 200 RR

Beta’s 200 RR is the lone motorcycle in this category without KYB suspension. (Beta/)

The first of just two manufacturers in this list is Beta. The Italian concern offers two options in the 190–200cc two-stroke category, the standard model being the 200 RR. Its engine is a liquid-cooled 190cc two-stroke single-cylinder with a Keihin PWK 36mm carburetor that sends a mixture of air and fuel through a VForce4R reed valve system. The biggest difference between the 200 RR and its 200 RR Race Edition counterpart is the former’s use of a ZF Sachs 48mm open-cartridge coil-spring fork and ZF Sachs shock. The up-spec model on the other hand features a KYB Air-Oil Separate (AOS) 48mm closed-cartridge coil-spring fork and KYB shock.

2024 Beta 200 RR Race Edition

Higher-performance suspension is the most notable upgrade the 200 RR Race Edition features over the standard-model 200 RR. (Beta/)

Would you pay an extra $300 for a Beta 200 RR with KYB suspension? If so, the 200 RR Race Edition is right up your alley. In addition to more performance-focused suspension, Beta’s up-spec 190cc two-stroke features black anodized footpegs with steel pins, an aluminum/steel hybrid rear sprocket, a red anodized quick-release axle pull, and hand guards. Appearance-wise, there are a blue headlight, front fender, and fork guards, plus competition-inspired graphics. The last time we ran this model on our in-house dyno was in 2022, where it made 31.0 hp and 18.9 lb.-ft. of torque. That same year, it rolled onto our automotive scales at 234 pounds wet.

2024 Rieju MR Ranger 200

Rieju’s MR Ranger 200 is the most budget-friendly 190–200cc two-stroke dirt bike. (Rieju/)

If some of these price tags scare you, check out the Rieju MR Ranger 200. It’s the least expensive in this segment—$900 less than Beta’s 200 RR and its own MR Racing 200 sibling. The Spanish manufacturer designed the MR Ranger 200 to be a simple dirt bike for trail riding. A lower stance makes it easier for riders to touch their feet on the ground and model-specific engine tuning is designed to give it a more user-friendly power delivery. Claimed seat height on the MR Ranger 200 is 36.3 inches.

If you’re in the market for a 190–200cc two-stroke dirt bike, and challenging single-track riding and even enduro racing are in your riding plans, the MR Racing 200 will probably catch your eye. This model brings more of a performance focus than the MR Ranger 200 with top-shelf suspension components in the form of a KYB Air-Oil Separate (AOS) closed-cartridge coil-spring fork and KYB shock. Some other high-quality components on this machine are a VForce4 reed valve system, Nissin brake calipers, Excel rims, and Neken handlebar and grips.

2024 Rieju MR Pro 200

The only 190–200cc two-stroke off-road motorcycle with a five-figure price tag is Rieju’s MR Pro 200. (Rieju/)

The most expensive in this segment, Rieu’s MR Pro 200 carries a suggested retail price that’s $900 more than the MR Racing 200. What warrants the price increase? The MR Pro 200 boasts several up-spec features not seen on the MR Racing 200 including Xtrig ROCS triple clamps, DLC-coated lower fork tubes, red-anodized wheel hubs, a radiator fan, Polisport ignition and clutch cover protectors, a Renthal Twinwall handlebar, and Renthal grips. Like its Rieju stablemates of the same displacement, the MR Pro 200 sends horsepower and torque to the rear wheel with a carbureted liquid-cooled two-stroke 199cc single-cylinder engine.
