2024 Special-Edition 450cc Motocross Bikes To Buy
Dirt bike enthusiasts who have ventured through the pits at an AMA Supercross, Pro Motocross, or SuperMotocross (SMX) World Championship race know how trick the superstars’ bikes look up close and in person. While many of the factory bikes are equipped with works components that aren’t available for purchase, there are parts on said machines that can be bought in manufacturer’s accessories catalogs or through the aftermarket.
For those who don’t want to buy a standard-model 450cc motocross bike then purchase said up-spec items and install them, four brands offer special-edition versions of their respective flagship motocross bikes. This gives riders the opportunity to own a factory look-alike dirt bike of Chase Sexton, Jett Lawrence, Malcolm Stewart, and Justin Barcia. 2024 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition

In addition to an orange powdercoated frame and slew of KTM PowerParts items, the 2024 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition features mechanical updates throughout to improve comfort and overall performance over the standard-model 450 SX-F. The Ready to Race brand’s special-edition flagship motocross bike’s most notable changes for 2024 include a reworked double-cradle chromoly steel frame, new radiator shrouds, updated air intake sleeve and snorkel, revised suspension settings, redesigned fork protection rings, new low-friction linkage seals, reworked linkage settings, and smaller and lighter linkage bolt. KTM also added Connectivity Unit Offroad (CUO), which allows riders to adjust engine settings and use LitPro to access a host of analytics and information.

2024 Honda CRF450RWE

On the market since 2019, Honda’s CRF450RWE was the first special-edition 450cc motocross bike from Japan and is the only non-Austrian model in this segment for 2024. Its fuel-injected liquid-cooled SOHC four-stroke 450cc single-cylinder engine features polished ports, special ECU settings, a Yoshimura RS-12 exhaust system, Hinson Racing clutch basket and cover, Twin Air air filter, and red valve cover.
Big Red gives its Showa 49mm coil-spring fork and Showa shock special coatings to reduce friction and enhance the bike’s already-stunning appearance. Other up-spec parts on the CRF450RWE include D.I.D DirtStar LT-X rims, a D.I.D gold chain, gray-metallic triple clamps, Throttle Jockey seat cover and graphics, and Renthal Kevlar dual-compound half-waffle grips.

2024 Husqvarna FC 450 Rockstar Edition

Husqvarna’s FC 450 Rockstar Edition features all of the same updates as KTM’s 450 SX-F Factory Edition for 2024, but maintains brand- and model-specific items such as an FMF Factory 4.1 RCT slip-on titanium muffler, Excel Takasago rims, and ProTaper handlebar. This machine’s fuel-injected liquid-cooled SOHC four-stroke 450cc single-cylinder engine churns out 55.5 hp and 33.5 lb.-ft. of torque on our in-house Dynojet 250i rear-wheel dynamometer. The FC 450 Rockstar Edition rolls onto Dirt Rider’s automotive scales at 242 pounds wet, and we measured its seat height at 37.8 inches.

2024 GasGas MC 450F Factory Edition

The newest model in this segment having been introduced in 2023, GasGas’ MC 450F Factory Edition enjoys several updates in its second year on the market (same as what KTM’s 450 SX-F Factory Edition and Husqvarna’s FC 450 Rockstar Edition receive). Some up-spec components on this model shares with its Austrian cousins are CNC-machined triple clamps with two offset options, a carbon composite skid plate, ribbed seat cover, semi-floating front brake disc, carbon composite front brake disc guard, WP holeshot device, gold chain, and gray ODI lock-on grips.
