With its long wheelbase, aggressive stance, and plenty of room for family and gear, the Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000 Limited is the most adventure-ready RMAX 1000 ever, and it is a very dependable trail machine that I trust to take me out into the middle of nowhere and get me back to the trailhead.

Powered by a 999-cc DOHC, eight-valve, parallel-twin engine, RMAX 1000 models deliver powerful performance and premium automotive-style interior finishes.  The RMAX 1000 lineup features Yamaha’s renowned Ultramatic transmission with an industry-exclusive 10-Year Belt Warranty, legendary On-Command four-wheel drive (4WD), torque- and speed-sensitive Electric Power Steering (EPS), a 2,000-pound towing capacity, a 600-pound bed capacity, and seamless compatibility and customization with Yamaha Genuine Accessories.

While I don’t often haul four people around, I did like the concept of more space for carrying gear on longer adventure rides and/or camping trips.

The concept for this build is to keep it very simple but effective – we want to do group rides over long distances in comfort while keeping it very dependable. No matter the vehicle, I always add radio and intercom – Rugged Radios is my go-to for communications. Tires and wheels were next and since this vehicle will primarily be used in Utah, we added a turn signal kit so we can register as street legal. Suspension adjustments are always a great way to zero in the vehicle to the terrain and payload, and complement the factory-installed FOX iQS. And since I wanted a better way to carry gear in the back seat area, we are having UTV Pros build seat delete racks. Clutch kit wasn’t something I normally tackle, but on the RMAX4, I wanted lower cruising RPMs and adjustment for 32-inch tires.
