AMSOIL CHAMPIONSHIP OFF-ROAD TOUR STARTS MAY 18TH-19TH

The granddaddy of off-road short-course racing, Champ or CORT (formerly SODA then CORR and TORC) is the oldest surviving short-course series that boasts iconic venues like Crandon International, ERX Park, and Dirt City. The Championship Off-Road Tour released its 2024 short-course SxS, truck, buggy, and kart racing series schedule kicking off on May 18th at Dirt City Motorplex in Lena, Wisconsin.

Champ visits its most famous racing circuit this June 22nd and 23rd. Crandon International Raceway has been drawing the biggest names in racing for many decades, and the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run race week has camping and a festival atmosphere with open pits, driver autograph sessions, vendor row, and a wide selection of food trucks. The 31st Brush Run will have Pro and Amateur short-course racing, the FCP Community Cup race, the 1st annual Crandon Vintage Revival show and racing, and free concerts on Friday and  Saturday nights. The venue is surrounded by forests and is next to the Hollywood Hill Campground/RV Park and Crandon Saloon Event Center.

In 2021 Champ Pro Turbos, father Rodney VanEpren was champion with son Owen third in points.

ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota, will host the Champ ERX Off-road National the weekend of July 11th through 14th. ERX’s short-course track is in a natural amphitheater, so spectators bring lawn chairs and blankets and sit on the grassy hills for an up-close view of the truck, buggy, and UTV races, plus there are free bleacher seats on a first-come basis. ERX has a welcome center with Pro Shop, lounge, and restaurant, and Polaris and CFMoto have held press events there. There are extended off-road loops in the surrounding woods for campers to explore.

Kyle Chaney is the defending Pro Turbo UTV champion.

Champ returns to “The Big House” at the end of August for the Polaris World Shootout. That four-day weekend will also have Ultra4-style rock bouncers, the Class 11 VW World Championships, the 55th Lucas Oil Labor Day Parade, FCP Racing Friday Night Thunder, Saturday night “Rage on the Rocks” racing, Lucas Oil Legends Poker Run, the 9th annual Red Bull Crandon World Cup on Sunday, and free concerts on Saturday and Sunday nights. Check out the latest news and reserve campsites at www.crandonoffroad.com, and rounds at other Champ venues have similar amenities and activities.

SxS classes are Youth 200, 570, Sportsman, Pro-Am, Pro Stock and Pro Turbo, and several manufacturers pay contingencies for wins and titles. New for 2024, Champ will be aired on Fox Sports; we hope that Fox’s drone pilots are as good as Champ’s 2023 pilots! Kyle Chaney is defending Turbo champ, and CJ Greaves is defending Pro Stock champ.
