DIRT EXPO – Arizona is a hotbed for aftermarket off-road powersports manufacturers

It’s no secret that aftermarket powersports companies dominate the Southwest, and more and more companies are calling Arizona home. Throughout the year, Arizona hosts several off-road consumer shows that allow vendors to show off and sell their latest products. One of the largest shows is Dirt Expo, which is held annually in Scottsdale during December, and again in Lake Havasu during February. We recently attended the Scottsdale Dirt Expo, and here’s just a tiny taste of the latest products available for ATV and side-by-side enthusiasts. 

Triple X Seats stands for “Xtreme Safety, Xtreme Comfort and Xtreme Style” for Can-Am, Polaris, Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki side-by-sides, as well as other off-road vehicles. Of all the vehicles we spotted at Dirt Expo in Phoenix, Arizona, nothing showcased more products than this Polaris Xpedition ADV build from SDR Motorsports. Equipped with aftermarket suspension, a Valor 35-inch tire and wheel package, a roof rack, electronic gadgetry, and storage options galore, this build would cost over $70,000 to duplicate. Midnight Rally Club has three versions of its Stage One helmet that are perfect for side-by-side owners. The Stage One NX helmet is a standard helmet with optimized ventilation, a two-stage dust curtain, lightweight construction and a quick-release chin strap for $149.95. These mounts allow you to upgrade your stock steering wheel without giving up the electronic features integrated into the stock unit. SDR Motorsports’ new Polaris Xpedition X-Plorer Series front bumper and skid plate are more functional upgrades from stock. They also look stylishly mean with a perfect fit and finish. The bumper design features a stout steel bulkhead that allows mounting your factory or aftermarket winch and comes equipped with an aluminum fairlead. The two-piece bumper shell is made entirely of aluminum to keep the weight down without sacrificing protection. Valor Off-Road hit the side-by-side scene at full speed and hasn’t let up with a variety of wheels and tires for side-by-sides, including beadlock wheel choices for the new six-lug Can-Am Maverick R. Valor also makes the universal dual-drilled wheel with both 4×137 and 4×156 bolt patterns, so you can use the same wheels and tires on a variety of machines and have a one-size-fits-most spare. SDI E-CLIK suspension uses 12 electronic inputs from numerous sensors to adjust each shock independently and automatically up to 250 times a second. It makes adjustments based on speed, cornering, terrain, roll, throttle and more. A touchscreen controller also lets the driver select from three modes. Cloud mode is for slower technical terrain, such as rock crawling; Dune mode stiffens up the suspension when encountering sharp transitions and G-outs; and Race mode is for high-speed action on varying terrain. We spotted these two products in the back of a Polaris Xpedition at Dirt Expo. The 41-quart/38-liter portable Blizzard Box cooler lets you skip the ice with electronic cooling as low as 0 degrees Fahrenheit. It can handle as many as fifty-four 12-ounce cans, and you can power phones and accessories with the built-in USB port. The Blizzard Box is available from various online retailers for $899. 

Milwaukee Packout Modular Storage Systems are a great way to store tools, parts, and other small items securely in the side-by-side cargo area. Modular connectivity allows for customization. In addition to Can-Am and Polaris side-by-side models, Black Ops Machine now offers heavy-duty upper and lower ball joints for the Honda Talon. The housing, support cup and studs are made from 4340 chromoly and 300m steel. The dust boots are made from CR/neoprene, and the adjustment plate cap is 6061 aluminum. The ball joints are fully adjustable and rebuildable, allowing them to be fully disassembled, cleaned and re-greased with a Zerk fitting.
