KEN ROCZEN INJURY REPORT: TO MISS REMAINING THREE ROUNDS

Ken Roczen entered round fourteen 39 points behind the tied front-runners, Jett Lawrence and Cooper Webb. Unfortunately, the Nashville Supercross was his last 2024 Monster Energy Supercross season race. The Main Event started with Roczen in third, but he passed Jett Lawrence on the opening lap to jump into the number two spot behind Eli Tomac. He pressured Tomac for seven laps before a catastrophic shock failure occurred when he landed off the triple just before the whoop section.

You can see the clip fly off Ken’s shock and you can see the shock oil all over his boot in this photo.

If the jump had been into a corner, Ken might’ve been able to avoid crashing with the broken shock, but it happened just as he was fully committed to entering the whoop section. Ken held onto the bucking bronco for as long as he could, until it finally spit him off at the end.

Originally, Ken’s wife Courtney, and his agent, Steve Astephen, posted that he was relatively “ok,” indicating that he wasn’t seriously injured. However, further evaluations showed Ken broke a few bones in his foot.

Ken posted via Instagram: “Alright, after further evaluation it looks like I will be out for a little bit. It turns out I broke my tib plateau, my foot and my toe. No surgery is required as of right now but we are still gathering some information and further evaluation. That’s really all I have for now. Bye bye SX24 you were pretty cool! My fans and partners, you guys make it super fun and it’s a joy coming to the races and get that support you guys give us.”

Last year, Ken showed up to race the High Point National and he finished second overall, but it was the only time we saw him race in between Supercross and the SMX Playoff races. We here at MXA wish Ken all the best in his recovery and hope to see Ken race another Outdoor National again this summer!
