2024 350cc Four-Stroke Cross-Country Motorcycles To Buy

Off-road motorcycle riding and racing has become quite popular in recent years, as evidenced by more and more manufacturers jumping on the cross-country model bandwagon. KTM’s is the most prevalent with six models in its XC and XC-F lineup. Sister brands Husqvarna and GasGas offer cross-country models with their TX/FX and EX ranges, respectively. The Austria trio holds a monopoly on the 350cc four-stroke off-road competition segment, and we cover the four models that fall into that category here.

Undergoing a similar transformation as KTM’s full-size motocross range, the 350 XC-F was all-new in 2023 and enjoys several updates for 2024—the most significant being the switch from WP’s Xact 48mm air fork (which was employed on 2017–2023 models) to a new WP Xact 48mm closed-cartridge coil-spring fork. Why the change in front suspension components? The Ready to Race brand said it was to improve feel and comfort during long off-road races. There’s a claimed 4-pound weight increase from the 2023 to 2024 model, the majority (or all) of which can be attributed to this fork internal change.

The smallest-displacement four-stroke in Husqvarna’s cross-country range is the FX 350. Its fuel-injected liquid-cooled DOHC four-stroke 350cc single-cylinder engine churns out peak figures of 50.9 hp and 26.8 lb.-ft. of torque on our in-house Dynojet 250i rear-wheel dynamometer. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing athletes who choose to compete on the FX 350 in various off-road series include Craig DeLong in GNCC and AMA US Sprint Enduro, Trevor Bollinger in GNCC and AMA National Enduro, and Colton Haaker and Ryder LeBlond in the tight confines of AMA EnduroCross.

2024 GasGas EX 350F

The only 350cc four-stroke cross-country model without CNC-machined triple clamps, Brembo brakes and hydraulic clutch, black rims, and hand guards is GasGas’ EX 350F. (GasGas/)

GasGas’ EX 350F is campaigned by Ryder Lafferty in GNCC and AMA National Enduro, and Will Riordan in AMA EnduroCross. This model falls right in the middle of GasGas’ four-stroke cross-country range between the EX 250F and EX 450F. It’s a completely overhauled motorcycle in 2024, as is the rest of the fun Austrian brand’s cross-country range as well as the motocross, enduro, and dual sport lineups. GasGas continues to offer the most affordable 350cc cross-country model, and it’s the only one with a price tag under 11 grand for MY24.
